        研究工作涉及分类学、系统学、形态功能学、古动物地理学和骨组织学等诸多领域。在分类学方面,已发现和命名恐龙新属种达30余种,包括世界上已知最早的暴龙类、镰刀龙类、窃蛋类、伤齿龙类、驰龙类以及角龙类的化石,世界上第一个保存睡眠信息的恐龙标本,世界上最小的甲龙标本,世界上最小的成年非鸟兽脚类恐龙标本,世界上最早的虚骨龙类化石和世界上最早的保存羽毛的非鸟恐龙化石。在暴龙类、镰刀龙类、窃蛋类、伤齿龙类、驰龙类以及角龙类等许多类群的形态学、分类学、发育学、系统学以及形态功能学等方面的工作分别代表这些研究方向近年来最重要的成果之一。
